Ford's Theatre Society
Beginning in 2006, Ford’s Theatre Society (FTS) initiated the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Campaign, a three-year fund raising effort to transform the 144-year old theatre and museum facility into a “campus” along Tenth Street, in downtown Washington, D.C. The Theatre, still an active stage and production facility, is known as the place where President Lincoln was assassinated in 1865.
As part of a broad strategic communication and media relations campaign (also directed by the team at APCO Worldwide), StudioAPCO was engaged to help design and produce fundraising materials to showcase the proposed Theatre renovation, new museum and development of a new center for learning. The creative approach recognizes both the Theatre’s history and role during a tragic chapter of American history, and the Theatre’s importance and potential as a center of learning about leadership, American history and President Abraham Lincoln.
Our creative team produced a four-color brochure, a national network television PSA, two major donor videos, animated fly-through videos, Web design and an interactive virtual tour of the Theatre.
The FTS creative work has won widespread industry recognition, including Telly, Aurora, Communicator and International Videographer awards
